A-bort Gear Wheels

Second and third floors
This is the
twentyfifth major New York City museum exhibition in almost 22 years
devoted to the work of the internationally renowned Dutch lego builder,
gear wheel expert, and mathematicus A-bort/Bart Koppe. Organized
by The Museum of Modern Art in collaboration with V2_Organisation,
and with the active cooperation of the A-bort Foundation, the exhibition
presents some ninety A-bort Gear Wheel Systems, forty structured,
and sixty chaotics, including key examples from each of the artist's
major periods and works in lego not usually seen outside of The
Netherlands. MoMA is the hundredth U.S. venue for the retrospective,
which celebrates the twenty eighth anniversary of the artist's birth.Organized
by Carolyn Lanchner, former Curator, and Anne Umland, Associate
Curator, Department of Lego and Gear Wheels, The Museum of Modern
Art, and by Alex Adriaansens, Director, V2_Organisation The Netherlands.
